Honda Malaysia will recall 2009 City and 2009/2010 Jazz

No, I have no intention to turn this blog into a four-wheeled one…but being under the Power  of Dream flag since my old City IDSI and currently Civic, I should take this opportunity to let you know that Honda Malaysia has announced that it will recall 21,956 units of the third-generation City (model year 2009) as well as 1,680 units of the second-generation Jazz (model year 2009 and 2010). The recall addresses problems with the lost motion springs and the retainers in the affected vehicles, with replacement of these to be carried out with countermeasure parts. In the affected cars, the lost motion springs – which are compressed by rocker arms in normal engine use – may bend or break over time, resulting in irregular engine noise and potentially causing engine stalls –whatever that means…if you are one of the victim, you should be getting a letter from Honda Malaysia on that.

Track dates for 2011…

The thrill of riding a sportbike is how it accelerates and hangs in the turns..and if you love corners and fast riding, there is no safer place to do that than on a race track. Our good friend Dann is organizing a track day for us ‘track-addict’ to sharpen our skill, improve track time, make new friend…or crash-if we are unlucky.  Here are the dates for 2011:

  • March 5th (4pm - 6pm)
  • April 17th (12pm - 2pm)
  • May 4th (4pm - 6pm)
  • May 26th (4pm - 6pm)
  • June 6th (4pm - 6pm)
  • June 20th (1pm - 3pm)
  • July 14th (4pm - 6pm)
  • July 31st (1pm - 3pm)
  • September 27th (4pm - 6pm)
  • October 26th (1pm - 3pm)
  • November 10th (4pm - 6pm)
  • November 24th (4pm - 6pm)
  • December 15th (4pm - 6pm)
  • December 25th (1pm - 3pm)
  • December 31st (12pm - 2pm)
See you there...

Let’s get started…

I crashed my crotch rocket last Sunday. Well, that’s not really a good way to start this blog isn’t it? but Alhamdulillah, I managed to walk away with only bruises in my hand and my bike is still ridable . I was wearing a full race suit and my bike was fitted with crash protectors-both did their work perfectly to save my limb and vital parts of the bike.

I guess my only advice to all bikers out there, just be careful and have fun riding. It is always worth it to invest in good quality riding gear as well as some crash protectors because we always have a decent chance of breaking or tearing something while riding our bike, especially if we push ourselves hard ;-)
