The ticking sound coming from the cylinder head has been bugging me since I owned this bike about a year ago. Since then I've spent countless hours reading in the R1 forum checking for possible solution (if there is a problem). Most of the forumers suggest that it is a normal 'Yamaha tick' and there is nothing to worry about. It make sense but I'm not convinced, so yesterday I took the bike to the workshop and ask their expert opinion. Well, much to my relief the mechanic confirms that it is normal and even newer Yamahas also making the same ticking sound. So to all R1 owners out there, don't worry about the ticking sound, it is just normal.

R.I.P Supersic#58
It is hard to describe because finding the right words this very sad moment is very difficult. I was there at Sepang Circuit during the race (and during qualifying a day before) and remember telling a friend sitting next to me that Marco Simoncelli will become the next Rossi. I' ve been following his progress since he moved to MotoGP simply because his riding style reminds me of Rossi and since Rossi in having a difficult time with Ducati, Sic is the rider that I hope can break the Repsols trio dominance.

When seeking your
daily motivation boost – motivational poster does help. The intent of motivational posters is to make people achieve more, or to think differently
about the things

by the motorcycle-related motivational poster.
So here are a few quick fix for ya all..take a quick break and 10-30 second look
at the motivational poster and I hope your are back in the zone.

New (& Faster) Look For My Bike
In the last post I was contemplating between two colour scheme...well, I've sorted it out quite efficiently (i think) by combining both design. I' ve decided to maintain red as the base colour simply because it fits well with my riding gears and errr...it looks faster, as you can see in the pics :-) . It was taken on my first track day after the bike roll out of the paint shop

Honda Malaysia will recall 2009 City and 2009/2010 Jazz
No, I have no intention to turn this blog into a four-wheeled one…but being under the Power of Dream flag since my old City IDSI and currently Civic, I should take this opportunity to let you know that Honda Malaysia has announced that it will recall 21,956 units of the third-generation City (model year 2009) as well as 1,680 units of the second-generation Jazz (model year 2009 and 2010). The recall addresses problems with the lost motion springs and the retainers in the affected vehicles, with replacement of these to be carried out with countermeasure parts. In the affected cars, the lost motion springs – which are compressed by rocker arms in normal engine use – may bend or break over time, resulting in irregular engine noise and potentially causing engine stalls –whatever that means…if you are one of the victim, you should be getting a letter from Honda Malaysia on that.
Track dates for 2011…
The thrill of riding a sportbike is how it accelerates and hangs in the turns..and if you love corners and fast riding, there is no safer place to do that than on a race track. Our good friend Dann is organizing a track day for us ‘track-addict’ to sharpen our skill, improve track time, make new friend…or crash-if we are unlucky. Here are the dates for 2011:
- March 5th (4pm - 6pm)
- April 17th (12pm - 2pm)
- May 4th (4pm - 6pm)
- May 26th (4pm - 6pm)
- June 6th (4pm - 6pm)
- June 20th (1pm - 3pm)
- July 14th (4pm - 6pm)
- July 31st (1pm - 3pm)
- September 27th (4pm - 6pm)
- October 26th (1pm - 3pm)
- November 10th (4pm - 6pm)
- November 24th (4pm - 6pm)
- December 15th (4pm - 6pm)
- December 25th (1pm - 3pm)
- December 31st (12pm - 2pm)
See you there...
Let’s get started…
I crashed my crotch rocket last Sunday. Well, that’s not really a good way to start this blog isn’t it? but Alhamdulillah, I managed to walk away with only bruises in my hand and my bike is still ridable . I was wearing a full race suit and my bike was fitted with crash protectors-both did their work perfectly to save my limb and vital parts of the bike.
I guess my only advice to all bikers out there, just be careful and have fun riding. It is always worth it to invest in good quality riding gear as well as some crash protectors because we always have a decent chance of breaking or tearing something while riding our bike, especially if we push ourselves hard ;-)
